Timmins was instated in 1912 and it was at that same time that the Hollinger Mine began a project that would span 50-years. These famous homes to the community would house the employees in the mine and was also known as the Hollinger Townsite. There were other pockets of residences within the townsite on Balsam, Spruce, Tamarack, Hemlock, Cherry, Patricia and Murdoch streets. Today the original townsite homes have been renovated and one home was moved to the Gold Mine Tour site for people to visit.
